Urgent Care

Our Urgent Care facility is dedicated to the delivery of care outside of a hospital emergency department, usually on an unscheduled, walk-in basis. We treat patients who have an injury or illness that requires immediate care, but is not serious enough to require a visit to a hospital Emergency Room. For example:

Lacerations
Abrasions
Insect stings
Allergic reactions
Pneumonia
Bronchitis
Asthma
COPD
Motor vehicle accidents
Sprains
Fractures
Splints
Casts

We occasionally hear complaints about waiting time to be seen. To clarify, “urgent care” does not mean you are seen urgently when you arrive, it means you are seen without waiting for an appointment, which at many offices can be weeks to months. Waiting times in the Emergency Department can be 3-4 hours and often longer for non-life threatening situations. At Access Medical Associates we bring the skill of the emergency doctor, and equipment of the Emergency Department to your neighborhood with less wait and lower cost; as well as provide the highest quality family medicine without an appointment.

At Access Medical Associates we strive to keep wait times under 20 minutes from the time you sign in. As many of you know, we are going through “growing pains” of matching staff to volume. Please bear with us as we try to accommodate your needs.

Feel free to bring a book with you to pass the time. You may use a computer or cell phone in the office but we ask that you turn them off when the doctor enters the room to see you, as it slows the flow for everyone if the doctor has to stop for your incoming calls.
